The UXLx Venue

The FIL Meeting Centre is a deconstructivist marvel built in 1998 for the Lisbon World Expo. It’s located in newly renovated Lisbon Eastern Business District - Nation’s Park. There are numerous public transportation options nearby and plenty of car parks. The building is entirely accessible.

Getting There

Metro

If you’re flying to Lisbon and heading straight to the venue or staying in a hotel nearby, you can easily take the metro at the airport. It’s just 3 stops away (hop off at Oriente station) and takes around 10 minutes.
If you’re coming from the city centre you’ll likely have a metro station within walking distance. The network has 4 lines in total so it’s quite easy to make the necessary connections.

Bus

For the areas the metro doesn’t cover, you have the bus option. Your destination should be Oriente Station. Tickets for both the metro and the bus are interchangeable. You can get them on ticketing machines on metro stations or on-board the bus. A ticket is costs €1,85 (there’s a first-time 50 cent charge for the reusable card) but you can choose to top up the card with a certain amount or a 24h ticket to get some savings.

Train

If you’re coming by train, then stop at Oriente station and you’ll be at a 8-minute walk from the venue (600m).

Uber/Taxi

A taxi can be easily hailed from the street or from specially marked bays. Taxi drivers are registered and it’s safe to ride on them. The fare is calculated on the taximeter. Taxis are fairly cheap and will get you around the city for around 5€ to 10€ a ride.
You also find two ride sharing apps - Uber and Bolt.
